Life is good here! We are loving this stage of life we are in right now. Chandler usually gets home from school in the early afternoon and it is so nice to have all that time together. I do work in the evenings, but it is only for a short time, and it gives Chandler and Boston some good one-on-one father and son time. Chandler has Fridays off this semester so that is awesome - 3day weekends every week!
I love my job teaching ballet and I feel like I am constantly finding ways to improve. I love being a teacher because it is so fulfilling (and that's why I love being a mom too). I love seeing my students improve! Chandler and I are also sunbeam teachers in the primary at church so that is another opportunity to teach. It has been difficult with Boston but I am finding more joy in it because I have been blessed every week to think of fun lesson ideas that make the time go by quicker for the kids, and for us:). Boston was a saint in class today too - which was wonderful because we had eight 3-year-olds to teach!
It is a wonder to watch Boston grow every day. I feel like he discovers something new each day. And this week has been a big one for milestones - Boston started teething and rolling over within a day of each other! He is getting both bottom teeth and he hasn't been TOO cranky. He keeps sticking his tongue out to feel his gums. And he pretty much has the rolling over from back to stomach thing figured out - he just needs to get his bottom arm out of the way once he rolls over. :)
His 4 month stats were: 15 lbs 11 oz, and he was 25.5inches long. He is a big kid. ...But he did not like getting shots at all!
Here are some other things Boston has discovered:
He loves to look at his hands and now he can see something in front of him and slowly grab it. He has recently figured out taking his binky out and then putting it back in again. I think he deliberately practices this one because I watch him and he does it over and over.
Loves looking at his reflection - but he doesn't know it is himself yet.
Tummy time is not his favorite but he is learning to like it.
He loves to talk, and squeal, and chuckle. He 'talks' a lot.
He sleeps with both hands behind his head usually. He also sleeps on his side and he falls asleep looking at his hands.
He can sit up for a second before he falls over and he likes it when we hold him 'standing' up until his legs get tired.
We tried feeding him rice cereal because he seemed to really stare at us while we ate. He doesn't like it ! He just looks at daddy with a funny look on his face. We will wait a little before we try that again.
He is in his own room! He sleeps pretty well and goes to bed around 7 or 8 then gets up sometime between 12-2am and then sleeps another stretch until 6 or 7. Those times up with him at night are becoming very special to me because he his extra cuddly and smiley.
He is such a happy morning person, curious kid, and generally happy boy! And he is so cute :) he likes his alone time and will sometimes just play with his hands quietly in his crib before I get him. But he also loves attention and games that we play with him. He doesn't hold back a smile - even when he is in pain.
And his hair is growing back! Yay :)
